The North Star Trust is a registered charity created to bring focus, strategy, and long-term vision to community support. While we operate with our own independent governance and mission, the Trust remains the charitable heart of Prime Trading Group, serving as the vehicle through which the Group’s collective resources are transformed into purposeful, measurable impact.
Our journey began as an evolution of The Fiver Initiative, a project born from a moment of profound clarity on a local worksite. At the time, security teams were tasked with clearing a site where several individuals experiencing homelessness had sought shelter. Recognising that simply “moving people along” did nothing to solve the underlying crisis, Director Neil Dudley approached the leadership of Prime Secure with a challenge: we could do more than just dislodge people in crisis, we could help them.
Neil advocated for a more compassionate approach, proposing that instead of merely displacing those with no homes, a dedicated effort should be made to address the reasons they were there in the first place. From that conversation, The Fiver Initiative was established to tackle the root causes of poverty and homelessness.
Today, The North Star Trust carries that legacy forward. We have evolved from a single project into a structured, public-facing identity for giving, ensuring that support is delivered with strategy and care.
Inspired by the real-world experiences seen first-hand on security sites, where issues of poverty, mental health, and safety intersect, the Trust exists to ensure that those who need help receive it in the moments that matter most. By taking the lessons learned on the ground and turning them into a professional grant-making strategy, we continue to bridge the gap between corporate resource and community need.
